Ok I am back home and let's try to talk through the process
This is my plan guys on spending my 1400$ this season.
I have categorized my plan broadly on 3 parts
1 - Entertainment & Hobby ( 500$ )
500$ I am thinking of a camera .. is it an entertainment ? haha Actually I can say yes because thats how I spend my leisure creating something new and sharing my experience which can help someone in many different ways. Actually I have one Old Sony Camera and my MI Phone, My Mac Webcam where till now I have been recording videos. I wanted to create Videos for my educational website interviewdose.com and youtube .. I wanted to start but at the same time I didn't want to put money on gadgets. So I just started because I think I should not worry about gadgets when my product is a Content/Video .. Creating Content is more important than gadgets .. The same applies now also but Ahh I think its time to do some upgrade as I have gained some skills and expertise...
So what camera I should buy ? actually I am still unable to decide between GoPro and DJI Pocket 2 - Mainly I want one of these camera because they are light weight. They are good for out door activity. optionally I am looking for a good camera which can be used as a webcam with my laptop too. ( Please suggest me what should I choose you can comment below and let me know your opinion )
2 - Stock Investment ( Minimalistic or Micro investment 500$ )
This is my first ever investment in USA after coming from India. I am going to use RobinHood it's very simple app. Infact I dont know if there is any better app I feel its really simple to use.. I got to know that we can even buy fractional share in RobinHood. which I was thinking only possible for Crypto .. Again I have a hobby of doing paper trading instead of real trading because of the fear of loosing :). umm I think with this fractional share investment option its easy to invest even 1$ in a stock and watch that moving up or down and see the performance which I think is a good learning exercise for someone who wants to experience the app and stock investing.
I am not an expert either, I used to trade stocks in India and I have almost always lost doing everything I have heard or learnt things like long term investment, things like follow the trend, follow the news etc etc .. But after a lot of failures I started to realize that this is not my cup of tea.. I can't stand on two boats.. I can't quit my job :) ..Finally I have settled with Mutual funds let someone take the headache of buying and selling on behalf of me and share some profit I am fine with it.
Ok now coming back to what I am going to buy here.. I think "buying cheap" is a lesson which I never tried so far.. Because stocks are sold cheap only when they crash or dumped and the fear of loosing more didn't allow me to put money at that time. So I know I might be late but I have finalized my 500$ will go to GUSH this season. Gush is an ETF ( Oil & Gas ) This was plumed heavily in March in the Corona Dump since then it is trying to recover.. Currently its trading around 74$ so I can afford buying 7 units .. This is a penny investment I know but to learn something I believe in applying and experiencing too. It's ok this is just a start will do dollar cost averaging or apply CANSLIM method which I learnt from a book that I will talk about later. This is again not a investment recommendation I truly believe in doing your personal research before investing in anything.
3 - Education & Certifications ( 200$ + 100$ + 18$)
I completed my degree and Got a job and then I lost the charm of doing higher studies, leaving my job for money! because after all if the end product is money acquiring just another degree and spending some more money with time didn't make sense to me. If I can earn that much or more being an expert in my field or mastering my skills where I am good at why should I go to school Thats what I thought. I am believer of self education than traditional school based education. If I would like to do some higher studies than I would do in a subject which is my passion like Physics or Something that I am curious to know may be after I retire but not for money now at least. If the education is unable to give you any financial benefit or support then there is no point of acquiring the certificate and wasting time. These thought always hunted me..
Then what am I doing today here ? I am going to spend around 200$ in a certification. Yes a skill that I want to put in my resume which can help me adding some weights that's it without going to school In short That's it. I have two options ( more than one choice always create dilemma, there should not be more than 1 choice in life than human will definitely acquire it without swinging ) with me which I am considering..I will tell you later once I settle and acquire one of it. But I have planned 200$ for this certification.
100$ - Buying and Renewing some of my domain e.g feettrack.com and interviewdose.com .. As a software engineer I love building beautiful products even though they fail and writing millions of line of code in my free time. I have built many websites and android apps so far and I have been paying for domain and hosting fees as-well I spent almost 25$ every month in hosting since 2007.. this is a passion that I love and I think this not only educate me brushing my skills and but generate new ideas in my mind and keep me occupied doing more and contribute to the society too in a certain way. I think its an investment for my personal education I always take it as a learning because at-least it helps me upgrading my skills for current or any future job opportunities. I will be sharing Some of the new ideas in my channel stay tuned.
Buying Book - How to Make Money in Stocks : 18$ This book is the only book in stock investing which I admire a lot cause I learnt a lot and by following some principle like CANSLIM method I made some profits too. I buy books which I keep with me for life. I bought this book around 2009-2010 I remember I asked one of my friend to get it from USA back then I was trading in India. after a lot of loss and failures in stock investing and research I found this book helping I definitely recommend someone if you are into stock investing buy this book and read.
Then what happened why am I buying again.. I gifted this book to one of my friend .. So I just want to buy it and keep it because I just love this book and refer the techniques again and again.
Ohh I have some more money left.. Of course Rest will go in Food in a nice restaurant and Buying some ice cream with family .. Thanks guys for listening to me hope my plan helps and let me know if you have some suggestions or questions always happy to listen and share.
